Free lunch for all youngsters 18 and under will be offered at 24 schools this summer in the Long Beach Unified School District. The school district's Nutrition Services Branch coordinates the Summer Food Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the California Department of Education. No meals for infants will be available.
Although each school’s mealtime hours are set independently, lunch will be served generally between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Check each site for specific times.
Lunch will be available from June 25 to July 27 at Birney, Bixby, Burcham, Cabrillo, Chavez, Garfield, Jordan Annex, King, Lakewood, Millikan, Monroe, Poly, Renaissance and Webster schools.
Service runs June 25 to July 26 (not open on Fridays, with the exception of July 6) at Franklin, Hoover, Hudson, Hughes, Jefferson, Stanford and Washington schools.
The Summer Food Program is available June 27 to July 31 (not open on Fridays, with the exception of July 6 at Lindbergh) at Hamilton and Lindbergh schools.
Lunch is served June 25 through August 3 at Tincher School.
