District Community Advisory Committee (DCAC) Meetings
Concerned African American Parents (CAAP) Meetings
- As a District and CAAP group we strongly believe that parents play an essential role in helping students attain success in school. We must work together as partners to make certain that all children meet high academic standards. To help make this happen, we would like to provide parents/guardians with the information, tools, and skills that will empower parents to elevate achievement in their home, school, and community.

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) Meetings
Each California public school district, grades Kindergarten through 12, with 51 or more English learners must form a District-level English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC). The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) is a fantastic way for parents to become involved in their child’s education at a district level. Each month, DELAC Representatives, parents, district leaders, and community members attend DELAC meetings at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Long Beach. Parents of English Learners participate in meetings about English Learner (EL) services which include establishing district programs, goals and objectives for EL programs and services, reclassification process, and how EL funds are used to implement academic services for English Learners.
