Translation / Interpretation

Equity, Engagement & Partnerships Translation Unit

The Translation and Interpretation Unit is available to provide support and language assistance for Interpretation (oral) or Translation (written) needs. Language serves as a bridge between cultures and is a tool for communication.  In order to ensure that all stakeholders are fully able to participate, we fulfill requests for (oral) Interpretation (e.g., IEPs, parent/teacher conferences, Board meetings, etc.) and for Translation of written materials.

Requests for Interpretation (oral) or Translation (written documents) should be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance.

Note: Office of School Support Services (OSSS)

Note: OSSS - Office of School Support Services no longer translates the actual IEP's but they do translate related assessment reports like pyschological assessments and speech/language assessments.  Please contact Barbara Palafox at Ext.8633 or email her at bpalafox@lbschools.net

Please Note

Requests are taken on a first come first serve basis.  Once your request is Scheduled you will receive a confirmation by email or a phone call from the interpreter or office staff.   If we are not able to accommodate your request you will be contacted as soon as possible so that you can make other arrangements.
