H1N1 Clinic to Serve Children, Adults

Thousands of parents continue to take advantage of free vaccinations for their children as the Long Beach Unified School District hosts flu shot clinics to combat the H1N1 virus.  Another clinic is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 21 at Millikan High School.

The Millikan clinic will serve adults and children.

Parents and guardians must accompany their children and sign consent forms in person.

The clinic will be held by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services.  Similar clinics, held recently at Cabrillo, Jordan and Wilson high schools and at the Long Beach Convention Center, have attracted thousands of parents and their children.

The school district has worked closely with the city’s Health Department to plan the local clinics.  LBUSD, however, is neither requiring nor recommending H1N1 vaccination for students but is simply hosting clinics for parents’ convenience.

Anyone with questions about the vaccine should speak with their doctor.
