About 80 members of the Long Beach Unified School District's new Female Leadership Academy participated in the recent Revlon Run/Walk in Los Angeles as a community service project.
The academy is a leadership development program designed to empower young women and increase their graduation and college enrollment rates. FLA activities provide a pathway to life-long student success through academic rigor, real world experiences and community engagement.
The run/walks in Los Angeles and New York have distributed over $65 million for cancer research, treatment, counseling and outreach.
