Lakewood Cadets Take Meals to Needy

Students from Lakewood High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps assembled and delivered more than 2,000 meals to the needy and elderly in the local community on Thanksgiving Day.

With the help of parent volunteers, the students worked with Meals on Wheels to deliver dinner to residents who otherwise may not have enjoyed a warm meal on the holiday.

The NJROTC instructors at Lakewood are Master Chief Pauline Bullock and Capt. Donald McMackin.

Lakewood’s NJROTC has repeatedly ranked among the best in the United States at national drill, athletic and academic competitions.  Earlier this year, Lakewood NJROTC earned first place out of 700 teams in a national academic contest.
