Most Inspiring Students Honored

One student from each LBUSD was honored recently at the annual Most Inspiring Students Awards dinner.  The winning students were recognized for overcoming formidable obstacles and for setting examples for their peers by coming to school on time, getting their homework done and facing their challenges head on.

This year's event featured keynote speakers Ty and Carole Moss, founders of Nile's Project. The Long Beach Education Foundation’s Mike Murray and KNX1070 News Anchor Frank Mottek served as masters of ceremony. Entertainment was provided by Nile’s Project Band, featuring the music of Michael Jackson.  Former Long Beach Mayor Beverly O'Neill spoke about what it means to be a Most Inspiring Student.

The annual event is sponsored by the Long Beach Education Foundation.  Other sponsors included Nile's Project, Verizon, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Long Beach Schools Federal Credit Union, Gazette Newspapers, Schools First Credit Union, and Windes & McClaughry.
