Cabrillo Plans Events on STEM, Climate

Cabrillo High School Engineering and Design will host its Women in STEM event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.  Industry partners from nearby companies will have lunch with students as they motivate, inform and challenge them to purse careers in science, engineering, math and technology.  A vice president from Honda will be the keynote speaker.

On the same day, Cabrillo Academy of Law and Justice, in collaboration with the Cabrillo Civic Learning Initiative, will host the Cabrillo Climate Change Summit from 8 a.m. to noon.  The question for students is, “What can we do to move our community toward carbon neutrality.”  This event will include multiple breakout sessions for student discussion and presentations, student action planning and closing statements.  Representatives from Sacramento, San Diego and the City of Long Beach will participate.
