Inspiring Students Honored

Students from each school in the Long Beach Unified School District were honored recently at the Most Inspiring Students Awards held at the Long Beach Hilton.

Keynote speakers were Aaron and Regina Cash.  Aaron is an accomplished international dancer and choreographer, and Regina is director of Academic & Professional Programs at Cal State Long Beach’s College of Continuing Education.

Frank Mottek, news anchor for KNX 1070 Radio, shared Master of Ceremonies duties with Long Beach Education Foundation President Mike Murray.

Each year the dinner event honors students who exemplify persistence, tremendous effort, good citizenship and service to their community.

INSPIRING STUDENT – Second grader Zamora Arzu of Birney Elementary School accepts a Most Inspiring Student Award. Joining her are Board of Education Vice President Megan Kerr, Zamora's mother Charity Lloyd, keynote speakers Aaron and Regina Cash, Birney Principal Athena Uribe and Board of Education Member John McGinnis.
