Dear LBUSD Staff,
Happy New Year! We hope that you have had some time to rest and rejuvenate over the winter break. As we start the new calendar year, we are sharing some reminders of caution and care. We continue to experience a COVID surge that requires us to take extra precautions for ourselves and for the well-being of our colleagues. Upon your return to district work sites, please practice the following:
If you have traveled out of the state of California, a 10-day quarantine (from the date of your return) is required by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Please contact your supervisor directly to discuss the dates of your quarantine if you have traveled.
If you are ill or cannot pass the daily health screening, remain home until your symptoms subside.
If you test for COVID for any reason, do not return to work until you have your test results.
Virtual meetings continue to be required at this time. We ask that you avoid in person meetings until we see improved circumstances with local COVID cases.
Do not socially gather or eat lunch with colleagues. This is a directive, not a suggestion until the rate of COVID exposure and the number COVID cases decline.
These reminders come with respect and concern as we re-enter our work spaces after a break. We have the power to make safe, responsible decisions regarding our health and the potential exposure of our peers. Please join us in maximizing every health precaution and working collaboratively to minimize COVID exposure in our offices and schools.
