Gottlieb Youth Art Show Winners

An enthusiastic crowd of students, families and school staff attended the 38th annual Norman Gottlieb Youth Art Show for local middle and high school students recently at the Alpert Jewish Community Center.

Middle school winners were: first place, Ana Sophia Tinsley, Stanford; second, Ella Ree, Marshall; third, Cameron Aguirre, Hoover; and honorable mentions to Mikayla Kwast and Miles Nelson of Rogers, Karina Lopez of Robinson, Kailee Seng of Hoover, and Isabella Martines of Stanford.

High school winners were: first place, Sophia Martt, Millikan; second, Grace Vazquez, Millikan; third, Jaycy Aguirre, Poly; and honorable mentions to Mariah Sainz and Jacob Short of Millikan, Audrey Song and Alison Buquis of Poly, Jalina Rocha of Lakewood, Kiera Rose of Wilson, and Angelica Bolanos and Madeline Loomis of Renaissance.

The Honigman Award for Inspired Visual Art Education went to teachers Antoinette Bailey of Millikan and Jackie Bellin of Franklin.

WINNING ARTWORK – "Distortion" by Millikan High School student Sophia Martt earned first place in the high school division at the Norman Gottlieb Youth Art Show.
